The Sigma Alpha Omega® Foundation would like to invite interested sisters to apply for openings on our Board of Directors! We are currently recruiting for a Vice President and a Director of Public Relations.


Directors are required to attend a monthly teleconference and additional “emergency” teleconference meetings, as needed, as well as attend all annual meetings during their entire term. There is also an expectation to proactively be available via GroupMe. This volunteer position is as challenging as it is rewarding, and can require 5-15 hours of work a week. The time commitment varies from each position but should not be underestimated.

 

Position Description for Vice President

  • In the absence of the president, or in the event of her inability or refusal to act, the vice president shall perform all the duties of the president, and when so acting shall have all the powers of, and be subject to all the restrictions on, the president

  • Communicate the mission, policies, programs and services of the organization to stakeholders

  • Serve as liaison between SAOF and stakeholders to communicate needs to the Board of Directors

  • Collaborate with BOD to define organization policies and procedures

  • Promote and advocate for the organization to relevant stakeholders in Sigma Alpha Omega® Christian Sorority, Inc. and outside organizations

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Position Description for Director of Public Relations

  • Maintain all social media and official communications for the Foundation

  • Maintain and update the organization website as needed to maintain current information

  • Design marketing materials for the Foundation and be responsible for maintaining brand integrity as defined by the Sigma Alpha Omega® Foundation brand guidelines

  • Collaborate with BOD to define organization policies and procedures

  • Promote and advocate for the organization to relevant stakeholders in Sigma Alpha Omega® Christian Sorority, Inc. and outside organizations

  • Perform other duties as assigned


 

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, and review will begin immediately. Successful candidates will be notified by 2 January, 2023 and will be invited to the first board meeting of 2023, tentatively scheduled for 8 January 2023 at 8pm EST/7pm EST.
